My hometown’s own Club Passim is becoming quite the hot spot for family music. Gustafer Yellowgold (soft) rocked the house back in March, and again this past weekend. Meanwhile, we were recently overjoyed to hear our new family favorite Charlie Hope would be stopping in for an all-ages show on July 3.
For those who have been had the chance to check out her music, Charlie serves up breezy singer-songwriter style pop tunes for families. Her vocals are reminiscent of The Sundays’ Harriet Wheeler (minus the English accent) while her songwriting style has its own trademark heart-filled sound. Her latest album is I’m Me! A Collection of Songs for Children, and is a pure delight from start to finish. Our car, house, and backyard get a little bit sunnier every time Charlie’s voice comes on and sings a family favorite like “Train Song,” “Naptime,” “I’m Me!” and “Shadow.” Charlie is a musician who can write little musical gems and do them justice in the studio – hence, the Juno nomination and Independent Music Award win.
Boston folks: I strongly encourage you to check Charlie Hope out at Club Passim on Saturday, July 3rd at 10:30 am. Buy tickets here and see you at the show!
Check out Charlie Hope’s official website for samples of her music.
